With the withdrawal of Ronan 'Pretty Boy' O'Mahony, John becomes the longest odds second favourite in Superstars history. Whilst he is a former champion, he has come close only once since his last triumph almost a decade ago. He has snatched opportunities to practice ahead of the big day – cricket and boules on Cornish beaches – but expectations are low for the 2019 edition.
